Something is waking beneath Lake Michigan.

It’s otherworldly. It’s hungry. And it’s calling to George.

George feels everything slipping out of control—and she can’t speak up to stop it. Her trusted caregiver, Verity, is hiding something. The new girl, Blessing, won’t stop coming for her, online and off. Even her best friend Jam can’t help her make sense of it all. Then the nightmare rises from the lake, and terror spills into the streets of Chicago. Only George, Jam, and Blessing can stop it.

Will George find the courage to use her voice before it’s lost for good?

About Play In A Book

Play In A Book is a Chicago publisher and arts-education company. For more than 15 years, we’ve partnered with Chicago Public Schools to bring stories to life, using drama to build literacy, confidence, and a love of reading.
